In 1985, Saint-Gobain has cooperated with Haniso, a subsidiary of the HanGlas Group at the time, and Isover, an insulation business division of Saint-Gobain, to start producing glass fibers for insulation and sound absorption using the latest TEL process. Also in 1989, to manufacture automotive bearings and chemical products, founded the company, Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics Korea Co., Ltd.
In 2005, the Saint-Gobain Group took over HanGlas Group, leading the domestic glass market as a technology alliance and corporate management partner. Subsequently, in 2019, Saint-Gobain completed the divestments of Hankuk Glass Industries Inc., as part of the group's “Transformation & Grow” management strategy. Currently, in the Saint-Gobain Korea group, the holding company Saint-Gobain Korea Holdings Co., Ltd., an automobile glass manufacturing and sales company, Hankuk Sekurit Limited, Saint-Gobain Isover Korea Co., Ltd., a company that manufactures and sells insulation materials, and Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics Korea Co., Ltd., which manufactures and sells automotive bearings, industrial high-tech materials, and bio-industrial materials.
